Day 5 of the 30 Day Writing Challenge.
I find this task difficult. It’s not something that I’ve thought about for a very long time.
The one time I did this was when I went to live in London, fifteen years ago. It was somewhere I wanted to live but had never been – there wasn’t any special reason to choose London though. I wanted to get out of Sydney and England was somewhere I could get a four-year visa for.
It worked out in the end but that’s about as much thought as I put into it.
So the first place I thought of and I guess I’ll go with is Mars. There something entirely appealing about being one of the first pioneers on the red planet.
Maybe it’s a sense of adventure, the desire to experience the unknown. Maybe it’s a desire to be a part of history, to push at the edges of knowledge and experience.
And then there’s also getting to wear a space suit, and fly in a spaceship and float in the nothingness of space.
That would be very cool indeed.
